The Government have just published a draft copy of a new piece of legislation that will enable Mandatory Reconsiderations for all ESA claimants wanting to lodge an appeal on or after 28 October 2013.
Although the legislation is still in draft and therefore not law at this point in time, it seems unlikely that they will not proceed with making this law at some time in the next six weeks.
I want to stress that this legislation does not affect any request for appeal made before 28 October and will not affect any appeal that has already been lodged but is not heard until after 28 October.
We will be updating the ESA Appeal guide to reflect the new process.
Finally, I would ask members to restrain themselves from posting questions about this change in the forum. All of the information currently available is in this post or has already been published.
As more news becomes available we will update the forum.
