Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Banty,
I'm glad that the transfer to ESA has been accomplished. Can I ask what makes you think that your ESA is only for a few months? I ask this because, unlike DLA/PIP, ESA is not awarded for a specific length of time and claimants are not usually advised as to when to expect reassessment.
However, the letters do often refer to a date in November. this relates to the calculation of the Christmas bonus but many people think it relates to the ending of the ESA.
If you wish to find out when to expect reassessment you can phone DWP and ask for the 'prognosis', or you can write and ask the same question, or ask for a copy of the paperwork associated with your claim. The minimum time between reassessments is 3 months and the maximum is 3 years for people in the Support Group (2 years for those in the WRAG).
Whether or not you had a face2face assessment, the information in this FAQ should still be helpful if you wish to request your paperwork.
ESA medical – what forms to ask for?

Hi, thanks for that, but at the end of the letter were it outlines 'How Employment and Support Allowance has been worked out' it states that 'The amounts on this page apply from Sept 2013 to Nov 2013'.
It's rather confusing!!

Hi B,
As MHB has already stated, the November date is purely for administration purposes only, and is not the length of your ESA award before reassessment.
The Decision Notice, which is the letter that you speak of, does not contain the recommended length of any ESA award.
