Migration - IB to ESA was created by dove123
Hi everyone

I wonder if someone could possibly shed some light for me.

I received my ESA50 form and posted it back to Atos recorded delivery this was back on 24th June they received it on 25th June.
I did send approx 15 sheets of additional evidence from consultants , GP etc to support my claim.
It is now 16th August and i thought i might of heard something by now.
Any way i called Atos yesterday a very helpful lady told me the following " a decision was made on 7th August that i was entitled to ESA and would NOT have to attend a face to face assessment ~ a recommendation had been forwarded to DWP for the decision maker to rubber stamp it" i asked what this meant all she said was i have to wait until DWP get in touch with me, they will tell me what group etc that i have been placed in.
My worry is i called DWP Incapacity Benefit this morning and they have told me there is nothing on screen so no decision has been made yet!!
What does all this mean ~ as if i am not stressed enough. i THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE!! :S

I am afraid your were misinformed by the person you spoke to at ATOS. ATOS do not make a Decision on your claim, only a recommendation.

As it appears you did not have a face to face assessment, then it is likely that you will be placed in the WRAG or the Support Group, you cannot be found Fit for Work without attending one, but you will have to wait until a DWP Decision Maker writes to you to know what is happening with your claim, which could still be some number of weeks.
