Please could you clarify things ? If one becomes a carer , whom is already themselves claiming ESA I / R group, do they automatically be placed in the support group. ( yes , caring for the person claiming Attendance Allowance benefit ). ? And what if they are disabled themselves and not able to care for the full 35 hours per week ?

Hi j,
Being a carer, either in receipt of Carers Allowance or The Carer Premium, does not have any bearing on which group of ESA you are placed in, i.e. it does not give automatic entry to either group.
As you will see you have to be providing a minimum of 35 hours/week to be entitled to CA or The CP.
There are further implications if you are already in receipt of other benefits, and they are classed as "Overlapping Benefits".
You should be aware that if you are a "Carer" that if any of the duties involved with providing said care, are in direct conflict with your stated limitations that give you the ESA award, that this may be taken into account in your ESA WCA.
Although ESA claimants in The WRAG in receipt of CA or The CP are exempt from taking part in WRA, it does not exempt them from having to attend WFI's, if so requested.
