There is a maximum waiting time of 30mins at an ATOS Medical after which you are allowed to inform them that you cannot wait any longer as it is detrimental to your already number of health problems etc. They will then arrange a further appoiintment. It's written in a publication by ATOS which they fail to make accessible to people. I was told about this by my local health advocacy unit.
I had 2 appointments cancelled by ATOS and attended the 3rd medical on the 29th July and surprisingly they arranged for an individual waiting room and recording equipment as I had requested. Only after 30 mins plus waiting did my support worker inform of the waiting time and then to be told I should have never been invited for a medical. They had decided on paper evidence but I was only told after attending on the 29th July.
I returned home after only to be assaulted in my own home so I had a very distressing day.
Remember the 30 mins is the maximum waiting time...
