Thanks to everyone on here. I finally got an award for DLA lower rate care - after being turned down altogether initially. I asked for it to be re-looked at and they awarded the lower rate.
I did think I was eligible for the middle rate but wonder if it's really worth all the hassle - is it worth asking for more info. or for another appeal OR should I just be happy I at least got something?
I can quite honestly say that if I hadn't found this site I'd have gone with their first decision. I applied for ESA? over 2 yrs ago and was turned down even though my doc. said I should get something. Being self employed I wasn't sure. I just left it - didn't even think of DLA - which I would most definitely have been eligible for - so THANKS ALL!

Congratulations on the award.
I am afraid we cannot offer advice on whether you should challenge your LRC award, you need to look at how strong you think your claim for MRC is versus the risk to your current award, as the DWP will look at your claim in full, should you appeal.
