ESA good news for a change

I never heard anything for 4 weeks so i decided to call ATOS again who informed me that they had sent my file to the DWP on the 2nd July and said i wouldn't need to attend a medical and the DWP would be in contact with me.
I hadn't heard anything by 2nd August so i called the DWP who informed me that i had been kept in the support group (which iv been in since Jan 2012) and i would be in it from 2nd July for 3 years so it has taken a huge amount of worry off me and it was affecting my health but i can relax now and im very happy with the outcome.
I just hope the ones who do get a medical for ESA pass it because i know the worry you are going through. My advice to anyone is keep every piece of medical evidence you can and copy it and send the copies into ATOS and keep the originals and keep in mind that there is hope for us all and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
If you do get turned down please remember you only have 30 days to appeal their decision and this is where your medical evidence can come in very handy because the DWP can overturn an ATOS decision if you can prove that you have enough medical evidence to support your claim and they realise that sending you (at a cost to them) to a tribunal with the evidence you have would be a waste of their money as they know who will and who wont pass a tribunal.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL

Thank you for your reply.I forgot to say that when you send your ESA50 into ATOS a doctor looks over it and your medical evidence and decides if they have grounds to call you in for an assessment or not, this is what i was told over the phone on friday when i called and that's why i cant stress enough the importance of keeping all your evidence as it could save you the stress of an face to face assessment

Im glad you got a good result. I sent in my transfer to ESA from IB on roughly the same date and the wait is stressing me out, the form is bad enough but waiting for the result is worse, its such a worrying time. Do you have a telephone number please for ATOS as I think its time I contacted them to see if they can tell me what is happening.

There should be a number on the letter you would have received with the ESA50, failing that
Phone: 0800 2888 777 or 0113 230 9175
