not sure if you got my last msg, as my pc crashed so re posting..

on my award letter it says i get income related and contribution based entitled too how confusing... sio which amount belongs to what, and at the end of the award letter it says my total income related amount is 180.00...

so i i move in with the lodger because he is on a high wage would i get ay housing benefit or not? because i would be paying lodgings...

why do i get penalised because i have mental health issues and need some support he wouldn't get carers allowance because he is on a high wage.. so i would lose my SDA i read on another forum that i would lose all my ESA because it says total income related amount as appose to contribution baed, which the first page of the letter says im entitled to both

so does that mean in a nut shell i would only have my dal of 270 a month to live on?? surely this wouldn't be correct??

Unless you are moving in as partners, your friends income, etc. should not effect your benefits as they will be classed as being independent, with the exception of the Severe Disability Premium.

We do not advise on Housing Benefit so I cannot comment on what if any effect there will be.

You can only receive SDP if you are living alone and nobody claims Carers Allowance for you, by moving in with this person you will likely be seen as no longer living on your own, however, if your living arrangements meet the DWP requirements then you may still be classed as living alone.

As I have already posted, you need to get face to face advice on this matter as there are aspects to this that we cannot give advice on.

is there any number i can ring where i can make an enquiry i was trying to call the benefits helpline for disabled people but its not there anymore,????

i dont want to ring directly to ESA as i have not decided what to do yet, i need some kind of support than living on my own because of my mental health, thats why my friends said move in with him, but we are just friends,

because he earns allot then it wont affect my benefit, or ESA apart from losing the disability benefit premium?

would i be entitled to any housing benefit if lodging or not? as he will be paying the rent but i would have to pay lodgings etc, food, bills, etc etc, so i will actually be worse off then because if i move in with my friend i will lose SDA
