IB to ESA Support Group without medical

I successfully used the Guide when I moved from Incapacity Benefit to ESA on mental health grounds. I sent my forms in to DWP in December and got a letter this week telling me I am in the support group and there is no time scale mentioned in the letter. I didn't expect it to take 4 months but at least I got the result I was hoping.

I followed the guide very carefully and provided a mountain of supporting information including Hospital appointment letters and copies of relevant pages from my hospital notes that detailed specific issues I have. I had obtained a copy of my notes for another matter and so I had them to hand when making my application.

I have just renewed my subscription today as I feel B&W is an essential source in these days of financial persecution of the disabled by the Government.

Thanks again for the very useful guides.

Congratulations on your migration from IB to the ESA support group and also that you have found the B & W guides beneficial.

You may wish to ascertain the reasons for inclusion in the SG and/or the prognosis ie when you are likely to be reassessed, by asking the office that handles your ESA claim for a copy of form ESA85A.

See: ESA migration – what forms to ask for?

On the other hand you may wish to let sleeping dogs lie, and decide not to pursue this matter any further at this point in time?
