DWP Two Step Begins was created by micksville
Well the great day has arrived. As I've posted before I was due my yearly review and IB50 yesterday. This date was given me with last years paperwork. Now I never expected to be sent an IB50 on 27th January as it said. I called today out of interest to enquire if my PCA would go ahead under Incap ben rules or if it would be delayed in order to transfer me when the migration begins.
I spoke to a man who clearly didn't know what he was talking about. Apparently I am due a PCA medical on 10th March. he said he didn't know where I got the 27th January date from. I told him politely I got it from the official paperwork his office had sent me this time last year, inded I weas looking at it in black and white as we spoke.
From what he said I will be sent for on 10th March and he wasn't clear whether that would be for the actual medical or whether I would get an IB50 or indeed an ESA50 first?
I assume under the migration rules that we will have to fill in the new ESA50 before attending any medical and thus give updated information on that ESA50 - having the standard month to get that form back to them and then being sent for the medical. Am I correct in that?
This clown couldn't or wouldn't make it clear whetehr I would be having an Incap medical or an ESA meduical merely saying the migration didn't have any bearing on the review date, though clearly it has.
I expected the DWP two step all along and it sure as hell looks like I am getting it.Let battle commence....

If you are reassessed in March, it will be for ESA not IB. However, you may not be reassessed on the date you have now been told because the goalposts for reassessment keep moving.

I knew that all along Survivor. It just amused me how incompetent this particular call centre operative was. He clearly didn't know the rules or what he was talking about. Just for clarification I called back, but on the ESA extension rather than the Incap extension and the lady I spoke to was better versed in the bureaucratic nightmare that is Incap/ESA transfer. She at least confirmed that the dates may be delayed yet again before 10th March and indeed confirmed that ESA 50 forms would be sent out prior to any medical, as opposed to just being sent for a medical without filling in any forms first, as the other guy was contending.I knew he was wrong on that but he didn't grasp that. All i can say is they are going to need better trained and researched people manning their phones when the brown stuff hits the fan in March, there's more chance ot the Israelis and Palestinians coming to a deal before they get this thing transferred through properly.

I'm assuming its roughly a month to return the form, then I believe about two to three weeks before any medical, though maybe longer. Then the decision - so Steve's assessment of about end of May before any real decisions are made seems accurate.

Unless the rules have changed, you normally have six weeks to return an IB50 or ESA50.
