I wasn't suggesting that being on any anti-coagulent drug, nor having a previous DVT or indeed a pulmonary embolism amounted to being classed as 'disabled'.

You seem to have a desire to always want to have the last word. ?

for clarification Pat my disability is due to the knee deformity and my back issues the DVT just happens to be a further consequence of this. I got what you were saying.....and never for a minute construed it as saying a DVT is a disability. These posts can certainly go off message can't they? Lol

i would not have a nurse assess me i refused to and insist on a real doctor,as that is what happened under incapacity benefit,i have already told dwp this and they can stick it in their pipe and smoke it.

I wasn't suggesting that you have a nurse assess you.

However, Atos these days use doctors, nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists ( jointly called Medical Assessors) to carry out medicals for
both sickness & disability benefits.

Whether claimants can insist on a doctor, I cannot give you a definitive answer.

However, bearing in mind the number of complaints of medicals carried out by Atos doctors, it appears that claimants may be better off being assessed by a nurse, a point raised in a recent newsletter from Benefits & Work.

yeah they gave me all that last time Graham though I am still sorely bruised on my stomach. Though i have done tghis bewfore, earlier last year i will never get used to the idea of injecting myself.

I made the mistake of responding to this because of my past experience as a
fully qualified nurse, as I was concerned about misinformation being given on DVT's.
