Just wanted to thank you for all the incredibly helpful information on this site. It has given me the confidence to apply for the DLA for my two years old daughter on the basis of her prolonged illness (since birth)and we received a positive outcome within only a few weeks - we've been given a higher care award for her, even though her health situation comprises a very specific and unusual problem that's been very hard to even fully diagnose so far. It means a lot to us not only as a recognition of the very difficult time we have all been going through, but also as it should enable us to receive further support through Carer's Allowance (still awaiting their decision on it) since both my husband and I had to stop working as a result of trying to help our daughter the best we could with her difficulties. The subscription to this website has really been worthwhile.
