Simon,
My husband has Asperger Syndrome and PTSD. He is currently in the exempt group. He has many co-morbids including agoraphobia. He is also in receipt of DLA.
I know it's easy to say try not to stress too much, but it's not good for your physical and mental health if you do. Have a chat with your parents or a Welfare Rights worker and apply for DLA.
Good Luck,
Faery.

Simon,
I'm afraid I'm useless technically, perhaps a mod would be kind enough.
Alternatively, there is a box at the side of the page, you should be able to find the relevant information if you click on the DLA box.
All the best,
Faery.

I dont know where you live in the UK but regardless of that if you could get your GP to ask your PCT to fund treatment at the maudsley in London

Then that will help you all round they are very good with CBT and other methods of dealing with your problems they are also the people who advise both the DWP and Parliment on your illness I know of more than one case where dla forms filled in with there details seem to get sorted no problem.

of course they would also be able to treat your PTSD

by the way the mri scans your having are not part of the normal process of finding out if you have asperger in the UK, its a trial being carried out by drs to see if people with asperger have things like white matter lesions or flair in certain areas of the brain.
