Appeal for DLA refused

Just got back from my appeal for DLA (both components) and it was refused. Ho Hum. Rational was inconsistences in the evidence .
Claim is based upon peripheral neuropathy of the feet which is that painful I have limitations on how far I can walk without discomfort, which is basically zero as I have pain when I am at rest.
Apparently if I was experiencing the level of pain I say I am then I should be receiving specialist treatment. My GPs view is that not much can be done as the damage is caused by my poor control of my type 2 diabetes and as it is irreversible not much a neurologist can do, so what other forms of specialist treatment should I be having?
Not going to pursue a further appeal, but can I submit a new claim for DLA based upon my current circumstances as they have changed significantly since I made the original claim back in February or is there a time limit?

I am sorry about your appeal.

Your appeal will relate to how you were when you made your original claim, so if your needs have increased, you can make a fresh claim.

If your GP thinks that there is no point in referring you to a neurologist, could you afford to see someone privately to get evidence?

As regards the pain, there are specialist pain clinics. The consultants in them are usually consultant anaesthetists. They can help with things like medication, referrals to physiotherapists (mine was helpful showing me the best place to use my tens machine) and psychologists (some people find how they think about their pain makes a difference).

You might also find it helpful to see whether there are any support groups in your area. I found statements from people in my support group helpful when I renewed my DLA.
