Will take a look again at the ESA Claims for Physical Health document. So far, as I can tell, I don't qualify for ESA.
I suppose, this is a strategic omission by ministers. This may change after suicides rates go up, and some dropping dead in the work place, causing public outrage, if at all, will there be more definition in rules and regulations.
Why else would there be no information about those unable to work due to chornic illness?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I don't see how you can get Income Related and Contribution based ESA at the same time, they are mutually exclusive, either you have paid enough NI in the past or you haven't!

I have had Welfare Rights look at my disability benefits because my wife receives Incapacity Benefit the DWP said we were not entitled to any extra money contrary to what is stated on their website.
We have therefore received thousands in back payments because Welfare Rights said my wife had an underlying claim to extra benefit as being my sole carer.
The ruling that Incapacity Benefit does stop your carer getting Carer's Allowance. We qualified for extra Income Support.
Having queried this with the DWP for over two years being wrongly told otherwise that we do not qualify.
With the help of Welfare Rights telling them otherwise we can now afford the equipment I need to help towards better mobility.
You have to fight for every bean because the DWP can be very ignorant that they make assumptions on every word you say.
I am still waiting for my Severe Disability Premium payments and the back-dated amounts.
There are a lot of disabled people out there who don't claim out of pride and stigma. We have enough to worry about to let a little bit of pride or stigma get in the way of trying to get any form of a 'normal' life.
The guys and gals on this site are here to help you. I will help anyone because my injuries say I should be dead. It is a little intrusive having test after test to find why I survived maybe because I am a fighter.
Warmest Regards
