Advice on danger of self-harm at medical was created by Alsn
I have a quick question about a future IB Medical examination:
If someone with mental health problems is not going to be able to attend a medical or have one at home without self-harming during the course of the examination, and with the possibility of becoming abusive or violent towards others during the course of the examination, (i.e. to attend one they would need to be restrained) where should they go for advice on how best to proceed - would the best idea be to consult a Welfare Rights person?
Thanks in advance

Hi
Yes, it would as we are unable to give advice on individual claims. Try your local CAB or contact Community Legal Advice
Also, I'd recommend you see your GP, as perhaps they may able to prescribe something to help you stay calm, for example Diazepam.
Good luck.

That's why I asked who to ask instead Thanks Jim. I've no experience with the legal side of these things, and medication isn't an option in this case, so I've had no idea where to start really. That's a great help.

For most, but for a minority that is known to potentially have the opposite effect re temper.... they may able to prescribe something to help you stay calm, for example Diazepam.
