Iam claiming esa for me and my partner
102 per week between us, while appealing against medical. A bit confused. If i was or was not found fit for work, what rate of money should we be getting, and after the 13 week period would we get any back payment.
New to benifits it just seems not alot of money to live on. I am getting housing and council tax benifits. I just need some help
with the figers.
thanks.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi kerryblu,
I'm afraid that doing benefits calculations on a forum would be a recipe for disaster. Far too much personal and financial information is needed before you can tell anyone what rate of payment of ESA - including premiums, for example - someone should get.
If your appeal is successful your additional component will be backdated to the date when your assessment period should have ended.
Good luck,
Steve
