PIP MOBILITY POINTS REDUCED FROM 12 TO 4

In 2016 my appeal succeeded and the tribunal judge ordered an INDEFINATE PIP award to me. And, if my medical conditions get worse I can issue a Supersession application.

But PIP has now reduced my Mobility points from 12 to 4. This decision was not based on my GP medical records, since no contact with my GP occured.

Made a Mandatory Reconsideration. Which Wow, well I'll never, suprise suprise, was rejected.

So, I've requested a Change of Circumstanes form, I'll issue an Appeal, and I'll make a Supersession application as well.

I must remember to add my medical conditions since 2016; Arterial Fibrillation, COPD, Emphysema, a severe Subdual Hematoma with Mass Event + Dysfunctional Cognitive Function, Double Knee Replacements, multiple Kidney Stones, Heart Problems, Memory Recall Issues, Confusion, Lack of Concentration, and Falls as well (got issued with a Falls SOS watch). But what should I expect aged 76.

I had to surrender my Motability car on 9/9/26 and my usage of buses on 11/9/26 to get some shopping using a crutch resulted in my knees giving up, and a fall at home on the kitchen floor. Never mind, I was only on the floor for 90 minutes, and my left leg will recover from the bashing on the floor in a week or so.

Well done DWP, keep up the good work identifying all the slackers who are claiming PIP.

Yes, I spoke to the case manager. Pointless discussion. The decision was right aparently? I've requested a change of circumstances form.

Does anyone know who I send the Supersession grounds letter to? DWP say they have never heard of a Supersession, the the tribunal said the same. If I can't find out where to send it, I'll just send it to everybody.

A supersession is the legal name for when a benefit decision is changed because your circumstances have changed. The outcome is that a new decision would be made from the date the circumstances changed, which will be after the date of the original decision. You may be thinking of a revision, which is where a benefit decision can be replaced by another decision if new facts come to light. A revision then replaces the error in the original decision from the day the erroneous decision was made.

A supersession replaces a benefit decision from the date circumstances change. A revision replaces the original (erroneous) decision from day one.

As you have been turned down for a MR, the next step is to appeal the decision to reduce your mobility points from 12 to 4 (and therefore not to award a mobility component in PIP). Effectively, the DWP have refused to revise its original decision, to reduce mobility from 12 to 4 points.
