ESA migration was created by tigercub1
Hi,
I migrated from ESA to UC and also get new style esa now. LCWRA
I asked for alternative arrangement for rent to be paid direct to landlord.
My claim was processed and I was receiving £201.30, UC plus new style ESA then in April it was reduced by around £60 citing rent arrears, also May and June. Having been on HB I did not have any rent arrears when I migrated over. I contacted the landlord who in as many words said I had been paid it and must have spent it!
UC started off blaming landlord.
The upshot is it was registered on my journal as being paid from the start, although the amounts did not add up correctly.
The last post from a case manager said that they had restarted rent payments to the landlord and said payments to me have been stopped ( I have never been paid rent ). I cannot get anything resolved by UC or my landlord and am getting deduction every month, Can't get through to citizens advice. UC said a specialist team is looking at it (twice)
Apologies for lengthy post
Can you help?
Regards

Hi tigercub1
Is your landlord a social landlord? They communicate with UC via the bespoke landlord portal.

Hi David,
My landlord is a social landlord.
I now have an appointment with a welfare advisor from housing association.

Hi tigercub1
Thanks for the update. Your Housing Association Welfare Adviser should be able to sort out the problem using the shared UC Housing Portal.
Let us know how you get on.
