Don’t know what you all think about our yearly PIP/DLA Mobility increase going straight to Motability. As far as I am aware I did not sign stating this would be allowed. Is there anything we can do? Do you think it is worth perusing?

Personally I think it is totally wrong! Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi Cathie100

There is nothing to stop you from raising it, but I doubt it will get you anywhere. The DWP will say that costs are Motobiliy's responsibility. Motobility, I'm sure, will argue that costs have risen and claimants are free to choose cheaper cars. (Their arguments not mine)

Hi,

When a person `signs up` to Motability, it states very clearly how much will go towards a car / wheelchair / WAV. If it states `whole amount` (or words to that effect), any increase in April will go to Motability for the lease of the car / wheelchair / WAV.

This was discussed on B&W: www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum/10-dla-e...-motability-increase

I, for one, find the scheme invaluable and have no problem with the / any annual increment in the mobility component of PIP going towards the lease of a car.
