UC change in ESA money was created by Fredo
Hi All
Checked my UC payments today as it was my first payment of 2 for this month and for some reason my UC as gone up but my ESA as gone down.
I was in the ESA support group when I migrated to UC last July 25 and my payments have been the same every mouth from then till today.
There is nothing in my journal about it and I've had no letter to say there as been a change, and my circumstance's certainly haven't changed.
where it says, what we take off (Deductions)
As this is an average of other benefits that you're continuing to claim.
They took off ESA last month £609.05 and I received, Total UC £451.11 for the month,
But today they took off ESA £20.02 and I received, Total UC £1040.14 for the month.
In LCWRA section it is still £423.27
and in the
Transitional section that is still £236.75.
Just to add I received my normal ESA payment last Tuesday as normal with no changes.
As anybody else had this problem ?
Do I put an entry in my journal about it or do I have to ring them ?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards
Fred

Hi Fredo
New Style ESA is deducted from UC and the way the DWP do this is to calculate a daily rate of ESA averaged over the year. So for months with fewer days such as February while the UC amount remains the same the ESA deduction should be less.
I cannot comment on your specific figures though.

Hi David,
Sent a message in my journal got answer back, (There was an issue with ESA and their claims so they did not take for the full month deduction. This has been corrected now).
Best Regards

Hi Fredo
Thanks for the update. Maybe it's an IT issue affecting everyone ?
