WCA dilemma - DWP delay tactics ?

Hi All,

Key points:

UC50 returned within deadline – proof of posting

We returned the UC50 by post on 8 December 2025, ahead of the 12 December 2025 deadline.

HAAS have confirmed they received the UC50 from DWP on 20 December 2025. However, they closed the case because it was recvd after 12 DEC 25 deadline

We have proof of posting dated 8 December 2025.

HAAS agent advised we should contact UC and request the case be reinstated
Sent request via UCJ
WC advised ' I see that the received date for your UC50 form was after the deadline.

I have been advised to tell you to re report your health conditions and make sure you have continuous fit notes so that the health journey can begin again.'

i'm so annoyed. The delays are out of our control. If had not chased the WCA in new year i would never had known what had happened. We didnt get any notification that process was closed.

What should i do ..... ?

Hi Sum

You say that you posted it on the 8 Dec and they didn't receive it until after the 12 December. Is there any proof of date of receipt such as " signed for " or an Evri type of photo?

Normally I use signed for services despite the DWP advice and business reply envelop supplied Unfortunately on this occasion I didn't use signed for services. Just have cert of posting.

Hi Sum

In that case you could ask the DWP for proof of date of receipt. If they refuse then you could request a copy of the post room log with the receipt date via a SAR ( subject access request ).
