Hi I have an upcoming routine reassessment of my (old style) Contribution Based ESA – due in Jan/Feb.

I was initially given a 2yr award for the SG in 2012 & then same again in 2014 & 16. But the reassessment was deferred in 2018, 20, 22 & 24 (by 2 yrs each time - I only know this because i rang them afraid the form had not arrived only to be told it not due for another 2 yrs each time!) In 2024 I was told it would be done 2026.

Guessing it may happen this time (I read that they have resumed reassessments again now), so am getting ready.
Am wondering, given the backlog, how likely you think it is that the reassessment will go forward this time?
I was also given an ongoing/10 Year PIP award in 2023 if that makes any difference.

I know you cant say for certain but just wondering if those of you who're closer to the 'coal face' have any more of a sense of how likely it is?

Thanks

  			 				Hi Cemily

There is no point in asking the DWP as all they can do is look at the dates you have already mentioned which are the " prognosis " dates on their ESA Opstrat IT system and tell them nothing about the backlog.
Assessments are in the domain of the companies Ingeus, Maximus, Serco and Capita depending on your geographical area. I suppose you could question their telephony agents if there are more assessments taking place or planned to take place.
Otherwise keep an eye on BenefitsandWork news on our website.
