DLA to PIP and UC Health Component was created by Mumbo_Jumbo
Was there ever any clarifcation on what would happen to DLA claimants who transfer to PIP after April 2026 with regards to the lower UC Health component?

I just rang the DWP and spoke to someone but they had no clue and advised against triggering a manual transfer. I don't know what to do. I'm currently on UC, CB ESA and DLA.

Hi Mumbo_Jumbo

I have not heard anything, DLA migration to PIP has been suspended for a while, not sure when they will re-start the process.
If you receive the B&W newsletter, you will be informed when the migration will re-start.

Thanks Gary.

I'd rather wait for migration to happen as and when it comes but my concern was whether migrating after April '26 would mean a lower rate.

Since posting, I've read the Changes to Universal Credit RatesChanges to Universal Credit Rates research paper which was published 2 days ago (21st Oct). If I've understood it correctly, all claimants are classed as LCWRA prior to April 6th 2026 will be unaffected by the new rates.

Who Will Receive The Lower Amount?"

"Claimants newly found to have LCWRA from April 6th will be entitled to the lower rate

I know this isn't the white paper or final but I'm hoping at this point that this fact won't change?

Hi Mumbo_Jumbo

Migrating from DLA to PIP will not affect UC unless they merge both assessments into one and bring in the 4 point rule. Keep up to date with what is going on with B&W news letter.
