Very confused, can somebody explain please? ESA test was created by loveday69
Can somebody explain how someone can be placed in both categories for support group and work related activity group if they have more points for the work activity group than the support group as follows? I'm not even sure I'm in the right area as this is for my son's ESA to UC migration
SUPPORT GROUP: DESCRIPTORS
You assessed yourself as being eligible for the support group because you are covered by the following support group descriptor(s):
- 12a. Reduced awareness of everyday hazards leads to a significant risk of: (i) injury to self or others; or (ii) damage to property or possessions, such that they require supervision for the majority of the time to maintain safety. (15 points)
- 14a. Cannot cope with any change to the extent that day to day life cannot be managed. (15 points)
- 16a. Engagement in social contact is always precluded due to difficulty relating to others or significant distress experienced by the individual. (15 points)
WORK-RELATED ACTIVITY GROUP: POINTS
You assessed yourself as being eligible for the work-related activity group on points grounds because you scored 15 or more points.
You assessed yourself as scoring a total of 84 points for the following:
- 11b. Cannot learn anything beyond a simple task, such as setting an alarm clock. (9 points)
(15 points)
- 15a. Cannot get to any place outside the claimant's home with which the claimant is familiar. (15 points)
- 16a. Engagement in social contact is always precluded due to difficulty relating to others or significant distress experienced by the individual. (15 points)
- 17b. Frequently has uncontrollable episodes of aggressive or disinhibited behaviour that would be unreasonable in any workplace. (15 points)
non of these things are suitable for the work place so how would they put someone in this group?

Hi loveday69
You are asking about having more points for the Support Group but there is not a cumulative points threshold for the Support Group it is about descriptors. Have a read of the BenefitsandWork guide here and come back if you have unanswered questions.
