ESA puts UC in its place was created by nonsmoker2008
Following on from my very bad experience with my forced migration from ESA Support ongoing since 2018 to UC this week, I'm pleased to be able to report that the very kind people at ESA totally came to my rescue.
Long story short, after double digit requests on both journal and helpline for UC case manager to contact me urgently regarding specific errors in their creative interpretation of my simple migration application, 72 hours were approaching and still no contact from them. I'm autistic and when I need to know/detail/resolve things, I REALLY need to know/detail/resolve things and ghosting me for a day feels like a week. A week in which I'm climbing the walls. Anyway, amongst the very many errors by UC, they were insisting I didn't get ESA Support and would need a fit note and reassessment. As mentioned previously contacting UC directly to direct them to their own Regulation 19 was pointless so, so I called ESA and relayed the issue I was having with UC. After a very understanding call with ESA they contacted the right people in ESA who called me within 24 hours to inform me they had emailed UC directly to confirm my ongoing ESA support group status, that they were also putting it in writing to me, and, despite having now had my last payment from them, could call them at any time to let them know if I was having further issues. That was so great but the biggest eye opener was when the ESA guy told me he had access to and was reading the entries on my online UC journal etc. I said hang on, the UC helpline people have told me multiple times on the phone that ESA and UC are completely seperate entities and UC couldn't get access to ESA records and vice versa. I called it out at the time and each time as unlikely bearing in mind both DWP JC+. Anyway, after the nice man at ESA insisted I take his name and number, and that his email would be on the letter when it comes for any future difficulties with UC migration, my blood pressure came back to normal range and banging headache finally dissipated.

(Before this, one of the UC helpline people yesterday tried to tell me she would let UC know I required answers to my previous requests for urgent contact, and then told me I might not hear back fir ANOTHER 72 hours. I made it very clear a total of 144 hours to respond to multiple previous requests for urgent contact with a case manager at UC was not acceptable. She finally agreed that it should be within 24 hours... but then wrote in the journal next Monday by 6pm - as in, another 72 hours.
Anyway, within an hour case manager at UC journalled me to inform me he'd received ESA's confirmation of support status and had placed me in LCWRAG...

So there we have it. A bunch of truly unnecessary stress caused by UCs refusal to deal directly with me. But very interesting to know ESA and UC are directly integrated - so don't accept being fobbed off by UC saying they're not!

Hi nonsmoker2008

That is interesting. The UC platform is called the Build and ESA still use Opstrat I was told last week. Opstrat is over 25 years old and is too basic to be connected to the Build. So you must have been helped by someone who access to both.
