PIP review question was created by mel0308
Hello, I’ve just received the AR1 for my first PIP review since my award in Jan 2022 and now in constant tears and panic attacks so please bear with me!
First, I just realised I haven’t told them I changed my phone number after being scammed, and I had a hospital stay recently for surgery which turned into 5 days when it was supposed to only be overnight. My partner will phone DWP on Monday, but will I be punished for forgetting? They did recognise ln my first assessment (which was paper based) that I may need additional support in order to comply with future claim processes and my functional restrictions are likely to still be present at the point of review.
The form says not to send anything I’ve previously sent but should I include it anyway? My previous PA3 report said that my evidence “supports diagnoses and restrictions present” and “all reported symptoms are consistent with supported diagnoses” so would that be overkill (I currently have higher rate for daily living and mobility)?
As some of my conditions have got worse or I have new diagnoses I will include information and evidence for those as outlined in the BaW guide. But, if I have been given correct info, the case manager should only refer it to HAAS if they can’t make a paper-based decision?? I’m hoping as I had a paper based assessment originally this will be the case - fingers crossed!
Finally, if I can ask one more question - as I have severe cPTSD, having to fill out the form and go over everything really sets me back and re-traumatises me each time so is it worth asking if they would consider a longer award this time (assuming it continues of course) or would it be better to wait for the outcome then ask for a reconsideration if necessary (my first award was for four and a half years)?
Thanks for your patience and any similar experiences people can share would be really appreciated.

Hi mel0308
Just contact PIP helpline and inform them that you have changed your mobile number due to scammers, you do not have to elaborate.
You should not be punished for forgetting, you may want to send in a copy of your hospital discharge papers.
I would ignore the form and send in any documents that will support your claim, if you have 2 documents the same, send in the most recent.
If your condition will not improve over time, there is no harm in asking for a light touch review.
