Mixing with other people descriptor...Good News.

I read on Benefits and Work about 18 months ago the piece for the criteria being changed on the mixing with other people descriptor.
I thought looking at that my partner should have been getting 4 points not 2 points. A certain family member has always given support and this has been consistent through their claim.
On this year`s review they WERE awarded 4 points and not 2 which meant they were upped to enhanced rate because they had always been one point short for that.
So I thought if they have got it this time surely they should have had it all along.....DWP had already said a while ago before I read the article on here that they had checked and they were not eligible. The cursory review.
So I searched out the article and sent an appeal in using the guidelines. This week they have received a cheque for just shy of £8000.
I would never have known about the change in the law if I was not on this site.
