Hi I have been told by some that I should just be happy and shut up. Not on here. However me being me that just got my back up. I know I was awarded maximum possible but it does not sit well with my internal sense of justice/fairness. Can I make my feelings known about certain scores and the statements attached without risking them reducing my award.
I got 15 points on Daily living , 12 on mobility.
There are a lot of scores I still don't agree with on both parts but 0 for moving around is really twisting my melons 🤬. At assessment, at MR I argued both times Can I send them a letter so my objections to certain scores can be noted , especially if in the future they try to reduce or stop award.

Was hoping to get a Blue badge as it's getting harder to get out and about due to pain.
Thanks again for all the help and support.

Hi TiredMUM

It is your claim and you can write what you want to them. You need to make it very clear the reasons why you are writing them eg to put on record that you didn't agree with the points, and that you are not asking them to look at your award again and you are not putting in an appeal.

Lots of people don't agree with the final outcome of the assessment even when they get an enhanced award, but they say nothing because they are worn out and don't want to take the risk of the DWP changing their mind, and then there are a smaller number of people like yourself who feel strongly that the points they were awarded were not right and they want it put on record.

Technically, the DWP has the right to review an award at any time, even if you have just had a review, and I think some claimants in a similar position would be concerned that the DWP might decide on the strength of the letter to re-examine your enhanced award and change it. Is it a risk? A small one. I can recall a couple of people in the last couple of years who objected so much and one of them did not lose their award, but they did consequently lose their driving licence, because the DWP wrote to DVLA to say that the claimant who was arguing about the mobility award shouldn't be driving if they were as disabled as they were telling the DWP.

You have to do what feels right for you, and no one else should tell you just to be happy with what you've got.

Thank You. Going to have a little think about it, have a few weeks to weigh up options. If/when I decide I'll be very careful how I word my letter, don't trust them at all.
