Hi Tillyboo

I'm sorry this has happened to you. Unfortunately, there are always people who find reviews happen at the same time or in your case a review and a migration. You are one of the unlucky ones. Regarding PIP, you can never be certain when review forms are to be sent out.

Thanks for reply. I have so much going on with husbands recent cancer, my heath issues ongoing tests for uterine/ovarian cancer myself. The cancer gynae I saw in clinic this morn wanted to book me in for an urgent MRI tomoz morn (22nd July) but had to refuse due to DWP ID home visit, I literally have no energy left, but thankfully I have my support worker attending, just to make sure all goes ok & finally get this migration done.

With the PIP review, they said expect forms in 2 weeks. I have been on 4 yearly PIP reviews & the last one was done via paper.

But I cant remember what type of form it is, what its like? Is it pages & pages? My GP will do a complete breakdown of my medical conditions.

Do you know once forms recieved how long I'll have before they need sending back?

Also do you have any idea of wait times for reviews? I have googled but so many different answers, some say months to years.

I am absoutely worn out with everything & just dont know where to begin with review & the thought of it all & the anxiety with waiting

Sorry I also forgot to mention. My medicals conditions are purely medicated treated now. I was discharged from hospitals years ago & under care from my GP, who adjusts my medication accordingly, as my medical conditions will not improve, only controlled by medication. When I completed my last review in 2023 ( should have been 2022, but COVID extended to 2023) I know I filled in the review form in each section & said no change, but added information anyway & a covering letter. I cant remember if my GP gave a supporting letter, breakdown of health conditions? I was awarded both full mobility/daily as like my previous 4 year award, without any assessment, I presume was paper based.

This time I had another fall in January, which as caused further pain & numbness to my legs, I have to go to the MSK unit in August to see if I need a new MRI, as my GP no longer does this, MRI's are only done via A&E or MSK, new NHS guidelines apparrently. Its taken so long for appointments due to back log. Like my 2 week cancer gynae pathway as taken 2 months.

I am also undergoing tests for uteribe/ovarian cancer & after all tests scans blooos etc complete, the hospital MDT will discuss my diagnosis & prognosis. Do I mention this on the PIP review?
Totally confused & worn out with the stress of the migration, my husbands cancer diagnosis. I just feel like I cant face anymore forms.

Not sure if you can advise on any of the above.
Thanks

Hi tillyboo

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through so much.

You get four weeks from the date on your letter to complete the PIP review form, however, with the state of the post this often means you only have about two weeks. When you get the form, you immediately ring the DWP and ask for an extension and they will automatically extend it by two weeks.

The form is not as long as it used to be. There is the Guide to PIP claims and reviews which tells you how to fill it out. If you don't have your previous form, make sure that you take a copy, this time, it makes it much easier to fill in the next one. Photograph the pages if necessary.

No one can give you any definitive answer on how quickly they will do your assessment after they receive the completed form. If you are lucky enough to receive another paper-based assessment, it should occur more quickly - within weeks rather than months.

Yes, do tell them about your ongoing cancer treatment. Add additional pages if necessary.
