Severe disability premium was created by craig41
I was awarded the severe disability premium several years ago when receiving IB ESA,and the enhanced daily living rate of PIP.Several months ago I was managed over to UC with transitional protection, but my ESA changed from Income based to Contribution. Last week I had a PIP review and it was stopped.I am now in the process of a MR. Financially apart from loosing my PIP monies my UC and contribution ESA seems to remain the same.It seems the severe disability element, and the transitional protection elements are still being paid.Is this correct?
Thanks in advance

Hi craig41

We can not tell you for certain as we do not have all the facts, we would advise you to seek advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation: advicelocal.uk where they can take all your circumstances into consideration.

DWP cannot change your IB ESA to CB ESA, as a guess I would say you were already in receipt of CB ESA with a top up of IB ESA as you were eligible to claim the Severe Disability Premium (SDP) and EDP.
PIP is not part of the calculations for TP.
