Why did I get a p45 after UC claim when I am long term ESA support group ?

I applied for UC on Sat 17th May so my ESA and rent benefit ended 30th May.

I just received a P45 dated 30th May 2025 which does not make sense to me as I was in the ESA support group and have been since the ESA support group started, because I am long term ill.

I notified my job coach in the UC application process I was in the ESA support group and should be automatically transferred as per B&W advice, using phrases in the UC guide. She acknowledged the note and stated...

The details of your ESA claim will be transferred to your UC claim as part of teh processing.

Should I be getting a p45 if I am being transferred from ESA support group to the UC 'no work related requirements' group?

Is this normal?

Can anyone help me understand if this is an error I should notify to my job coach in my UC application notes?

My daughter also received a P45 when her ESA ended as it is now being paid by UC. So it is normal to receive a P45.

Hi Shazzer

It's something I am not aware of, maybe one of our members will be able to give you an answer.
