Hello, two weeks ago, I spoke to the CAB help to claim line. After giving them my relevant details, they worked out I should complete my UC application today. Their advisor told me to phone them and make the application over the phone to save me making the claim online.
However, in the UC claims information email they sent, it says that if we make a phone claim we will have to contact the DWP/ work coach by phone only. As I understood it, we can only have access to an online journal, and the ability to leave online messages to the work coach, if we make our UC claim online.
I really need online access, phone calls would cause too much anxiety, I do have the Internet at home. Can I make the phone claim with CAB and still have an online journal or should I just claim online?
In that case you should make the online claim. But I would phone Citizens Advice Help to Claim and they will guide you through making the online claim.
Let me know how you get on.
David
