Confusion regarding UC LCWRA Payback letter.

Hello,

So I was recently awarded LCWRA and I received a letter saying they owed me money, but I'm a bit confused and wanted some clarification. I've done a fair amount of research and understand the 14 week cool down period but in the letter that was sent to me they informed me I was entitled to £1619.28 from 30th of January to 29 of March 2025 (the letter actually states 2205, I'm guessing that's a error :)) and have already been paid £1152.66 from 30 January to 29 March 2025. But below it states they owe me £1152.66 which just doesn't make any sense because according to what I calculated I'm not owed any back payment. They said they'll back pay £1152.66 into my bank account and I can't quite figure where that figure comes from. Even stranger was that I received £466.62 a few days ago which is for UC but I'm not sure if that's related to back payment or not. I was hoping someone with more experience than I could offer some clarification.

My first fit note was on 30/10/2024 and I had my LCWRA decision letter on the 17th of April, 2025. So is it just how the letter is formatted and written that's confusing me and I'd appreciate any help.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Fantastico

It is helpful to do research as you say.
Your " cooling off " period is the 3 month relevant period that consists of 3 full UC Assessment Periods. Here is the information to work it out. Do you agree with the DWP on the Effective Date ?

Let me know how you get on.
