Online Verification.. was created by john.lewis87@ntlworld.com
Hi All,
What you make of this.. My partner had the dreaded letter and her social worker has applied for UC for her. As part of the online verification, she has provided a full UK photocard driving licence, a UK passport, very recent etters to do with council tax and very recent letters actually from the DWP. All this, and thay say she has "failed" the verification and has to go to the jobcentre, which is something she cannot do.
Why would she have failed?? What more could she possibly have provided?? Why would they want to see her, do they want to ask her anything, and if so, what??
Anyone else had this??
Thanks all.

Hi to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Firstly if the above is your email please will you change your Forum user name for internet security reasons.
You will fail the online verification if the passport is out of date . But you can use the passport for ID verification at the Jobcentre as long as the photo is recognisable.

Hi John,
I can understand your frustration as indeed what more can one do. The dwp would have used a verification system services of whom I have not enquired. When you look at the documents you supplied as a set, you would say I'm good to go. However its not a comparison of the documents you supply with each other but how the information in them compares with another dataset used by the verification services. Any mismatch will fail. Examples could simply be a difference in the address formats, unless you have all the information they are comparing its hard to say where it failed. It could simply be human error in recording your details somewhere, eg 2nd floor, or second floor, maybe floor 2, flat 2, 2nd floor flat, second floor flat etc. Hope that sheds some light to this complex issue beyond our control.
