hello all, we have been moved on to UC from legacy benefits and we are £200 a month down and struggling, the only difference is they have classed my partner as long term sick ,where as before he was my carer . How can they take so much money away ? Is there any appeals process ? They basically said on our journal it is what it is, any help or clarification much appreciated. Thankyou.

Hi Teegee68

You need to specify what you got before UC and then now all the various amounts of UC called the elements and also the amount of Transitional Protection. Also are you down on the Council Tax bill?

Hi Teegee68

You figures don't make sense. Carer's Allowance is £83.30 per week. The Carer's Element is £201.68 per month.
Can you check your figures.
