Still on DLA indefinite award was created by Rosebud14
I wanted to start my own thread on indefinite awards, but couldn't find out how to. I'm very sorry to jump on someone elses. The reason for this is I have read the recent green paper from the top bottom. Section 164 states, those with progressive diseases and illness currently get automatic indefinite awards. Well I'm not going to have to recover, and I have a progressive illness. I queried my 2 year award with DWP . They said they don't give anyone indefinite awards. I challenged DWP on this as I have a close family member with less serious non progressive illness than me . She was given the indefinite award because of her age. They told me they would give me one extra year and that was it. However, section 164 of the green definitely states it doesn't matter what level of pip your on indefinite awards will be made for progressive illness Therefore DWP are clearly ignoring people's progressive illnesses. It appears and we all know this that it depends on who you get. assessing you to what award you get at the outcome - It is absolutely disgraceful that people are put in this position, but to give some claiments these indefinite awards, and not others who ard automaticalky entitled to it if they have progressive illness is outrageous and no one absolutely no one is picking DWP on this. Something needs to be done about this before actions in 2026. I am thinking of going back to DW. P again to query this, but worried that take my award away altogether in view of the recent green paper and the forthcoming benefit changes.
