I'm now on UC and NS-ESA following managed migration in Jan/Feb. I was supposedly due a reassessment WCA in September 2024, but hadn't realised they were on freeze. I'm now worried following the news they are being reintroduced, especially as I was put in the support group of ESA last time due to substantial risk.
I can't find a definitive answer as to the timeline for restarting the reassessments mentioned in the Green Paper. A friend says not before November 2026. Can anyone confirm if this is the case, or if they will be underway sooner?
The HAAS companies Serco, Capita, Maximus and Ingeus could restart assessments at any time. But they are not recruiting WCA assessors at present which is an indication that there isn't a change. Liz Kendall's new scheme is only at Green Paper stage and will need to go through Parliamentary committee during which there maybe changes. So your friend may be right about a start date in the second half of 2026.
