ESA(WRAG) permitted work to UC was created by Marie
Hello, I wonder if anyone could assist me, I have recently received my migration notice deadline 1st July, however, I currently do 4/5 hours Zoom calls a week, I’m an adult literacy tutor, I am currently in the WRAG of ESA having completed the permitted work form, so DWP know this. My question is when it comes to claiming UC how does this work? I am assuming that I have to inform them of the hours that I’m currently engaged in? Any help, advice that anyone can provide would be very much appreciated as it quite overwhelming! Many thanks in advance.

Hi David,
Thank you for replying no I don’t currently pay tax and no I’m not registered as self employed, if this helps any.
Kind regards

Hi Marie
The situation then is straightforward in so far as you will be treated the same as any employed person. The DWP are sent your pay and work pattern details through the RTI information system.
You can use a Benefits calculator such as Entitledto.co.uk to preview your UC claim.

Can you please tell me if I will be entitled to the LCW element in UC as I have been in receipt of ESA (and in the WRAG) since well before 2017! I only do 4 to 5 hours per week due to the nature of my illness, which the DWP are aware of, I do realise that there are no permitted work rules in UC! If you could provide any help/advice or guidance it would be greatly appreciated and many thanks for your time!

Hi Marie
Yes as you were in the ESA WRAG before 2017 then you will carry on getting the WRAG/LCW payment when you are Migrated to UC.
