irESA to Universal Credit: managed migration form - WORK & EARNINGS QUESTIONS was created by twinkerzzz
Relating to irESA to Universal Credit: managed migration form - WORK AND EARNING QUESTIONS:-
PART 1: 2 sets of confusions around answering this section.
1. Confusion 1 is around am i answering these questions as a UC claimer or an ESA claimer ? Are you able to clarify in what claim capacity i should be answering these questions ?
2. Confusion 2 is where i am migrating from long-term irESA / support group, into UC with an active work placement, started under ESA permitted work in 2017. The work placement is :
1. Minimal
2. Non-contractual
3. As much or little as i wish to do
4. Generally low wages of under £30 per month
5. Is always paid in arrears, based on me submitting a claim form to the placement employer for previous work completed.
6. I never know if or when i will undertake work on a month to month basis. It is generally muddled through on a can do basis.
I will migrate with it active into UC where i expect to be placed in the LCWRA group without any assessment, via manaaged migration.
PART 2; 4 Questions:
I need to clearly understand the following questions as it applies to the above work placement information :
1. Work Status section: Is this simply asking specifically "if i stopped working in the last 9 months ?" - meaning very specifically, ... was i in work status and did i become unemployed status in the last 9 months ?
OR
Can it mean something else relating to my work placement being active as i migrate from ESA into UC ?
2. Previous Earnings section: Asks -"Are you expecting any earnings from any previous employment in the next month ?"
Do i answer 'YES' if i am declaring any work placement previous earnings i know i will be submitting a claim for next month ?
OR,
Do i simply answer 'NO' if i do not intend to submit a claim for previous work completed under my work placement ?
OR,
Do i simply say 'NO' because i am unemployed , disabled and in receipt of benefits so the question doesn't apply to me ?
3. Future Self Employment section: Relating to the above information on my work placement. I think i may be technically self-employed for the work placement because i am not on contract and claim my wages in arears as and when i want to, though i don't have any self employed tax status / ID, being on ESA and unemployed.
So to answer this question correctly: 'In the next month are you going to be self employed ?' Is it better to answer 'NO' , because i dont have any self employed tax status, being on irESA support group and never earning above the tax-free freshold in my permiited work placement ?. Under ESA permitted work, it permits a capped income within ESA which doesn't neccessarily seem to impose an employer or self employed tax status. Or have i got that wrong ?
OR,
Should i answer 'YES' because technically, the payments i recieve are not as a contracted employee but claimed via self-submission of a claim-form to the work placement provider ? So, would ESA permiited wages change under UC to require me to have a self employed status within my UC claim ? Not something ESA permitted wages forces on me. If so, do i need to apply for a Self Employed tax ID ?
4. Future Work section: My question here is similar to Q1 above. Again, relating to my work placement information above, Is this simply asking very specifically "if will start any 'new' employment in the next month ? " - meaning very specifically, ... Am i of unemployed status and will i became employed status in the next month ?
OR,
Should i state 'yes' if i expect to do some work placement work, even if it's just a couple of hours in the whole month ?
OR,
Should i state 'no' because i expect to remain unemployed and on disability supporting benefits and do it doesn't apply to me ?
As you can see i am getting confused (where my neuro-diverse conditions can't process these questions) as to whether i answer these as an ESA claimer or UC claimer or if there is any difference and what i should put for my unusual flexible work placement migrating with me into UC ?
Help untangling this much appreciated.

Hi twinkerzzz
Your post is very long winded and confusing and also contains hypothetical situations which we don't have the capacity to attend to at present owing to the demands of UC migration.
I have also spent considerable time answering these questions before for you.......here.....
