Migration from ESA (SG) to UC query was created by Newlyxx
Hello, I am seeking some guidance on the following matter:

I have received my migration letter with a deadline of April 10th, and I plan to submit my UC application on April 9th. If there are no changes to my circumstances, I should be eligible for the transitional protection payment. I recently changed my phone number and want to update ESA with this new number before making my claim for UC as this is the number I would be using when making my claim for UC. Would this be considered a change of circumstances that could affect my eligibility for the transitional protection payment?

In addition, I have limited mobility and struggle with depression and anxiety. I understand that I will need to verify my ID online when applying for UC. Will I still need to visit the job center even after verifying my identity online? As I would struggle with this.

Any advice on these matters would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Newlyxx

No changing your phone number in any way or form is not going to affect Transitional Protection.

When the time comes you can insist on verifying your ID from home. If you meet resistance with this , let us know.
