Hi

If a claimant who has an appointee for Universal Credit fails to get LCWRA, can they be hounded to find work?, do they have to meet with work coaches and attend appointments at the Jobcentre, can people with an appointee but without LCWRA be sanctioned?.

Is the appointee expected to have phone appointments with work coaches?.

With thanks in advance

Hi Kelly

To answer your questions -
If a claimant who has an appointee for Universal Credit fails to get LCWRA, can they be hounded to find work?, do they have to meet with work coaches and attend appointments at the Jobcentre, can people with an appointee but without LCWRA be sanctioned?.
Is the appointee expected to have phone appointments with work coaches?.

Yes to both, if you fail to get LCWRA then you will be in the Work Preparation conditionality group.
No people with an appointee can't be sanctioned but the appointee could be fined with a Civil Penalty.
It depends on why the Work Coach wanted to speak to the appointee.

Hope this helps

Thanks David.
An appointee cannot agree a claimant commitment, so if there is no commitment, how can things such as work coach meetings and work searches be mandatory?.

Hi Kelly

It all depends on which official Conditionality group you are in. Most people with an appointee or LPA are in the No Work Requirements Conditionality group so there is no mandation.
