PIP Assessors Report was created by emme1689
Hi,
I had my pip review assessment on 24th January. I rang the following Monday to ask for a copy of the assessors report and I was told they hadn’t received it and told to ring back at the end of the week.
I rang again on 31st January and was told they still didn’t have it so I was given the number to ring Capita. They stated that it was still “processing” as I had sent extra evidence in after my telephone assessment.
I’m just a little confused as I asked the assessor about this evidence and she said to send it to the DWP as we had gone over my new diagnosis’s in the assessment.
I was given a timescale of up to 8 weeks for the DWP to make a decision but is it normal for the assessor to take their time sending their report to the DWP?

Hi emme1689
It used to be the expectation that assessors would return the report to the DWP within 48 hours. However, several members have reported Capita, saying that has never been in place. Untrue - it certainly was in the past, and for years, many people did ring for their reports after 48 hrs, and the DWP then sent them a copy. Some people's forms took longer if Capita or any of the other assessment services kept back a form for their own internal audit purposes. In your case, you seem to be both unlucky and lucky. You are unlucky they are taking so long - you are lucky if they are looking at information sent in after your assessment - because they often don't, I'm afraid you will just have to wait. Oh, and when the DWP said it would take 8 weeks to make a decision - it might be accurate, but be prepared if you don't hear within that timescale that it might take longer.
