How long do PIP take to Respond to MR was created by Tired MUM
So last year refused PIP. Completed MR and sent it back. Called them to confirm they received it and told yes, as yet no letter to confirm receipt and no further contact from them. Just wondered how long it will be before I have to start organising Tribunal stuff. Any ideas , TIA

Hi Tried MUM

I really wish I could answer your question - but I have no idea. Officially, they don't have to give any timescale for when they will complete an MR, and therefore, it can vary hugely. The fastest time I've ever heard has been three weeks, and the longest 12 months. Most people seem to hear within 8 - 16 weeks.

I eventually remembered to ring DWP, took several attempts to get through. Spoke to them Wednesday to ask what was happening with MR. They received it 28th October I rang and they confirmed it was scanned into the system and was being processed.
I asked how long it should take. I was told they aim for a maximum of 15 weeks, they then told me there was no record of MR, it hadn't been looked at. So I told them it was confirmed as having been scanned on 28th October and I was told it was being processed. So they put me on hold, then they said we will have to put you through to someone who can raise this issue .
The new person asked a few questions then said he doesn't know what happened but that it would be passed to a medical assessor and they will be in touch by Tuesday. I was going to ask something then changed my mind and he said no do ask, so I said can you make sure all the papers are organised so if needs be it's ready for me to go to tribunal. So will start sorting that out Wednesday

As previous posts, have replied to them several times but none have shown up. Called last week to ask what was going on with MR, it was received by them 28th October 2024 and I rang on 1st November to confirm they had received it and they also confirmed that it had been scanned and put into system. So apparently I was told that it had not been actioned, no one had looked at the MR request and I again told them that I had told them several times I was doing MR and that I had confirmed that with them on the 1st of November. I was asked if there were any changes, I told them a change in meds and an increase in dosage of pain meds. I was then told I would be put through to someone senior to start /register MR. The person asked same questions about changes , I said I have just told previous agent the person said nothing has been added to file so we did it again. Person then said it would be passed to a senior medical person to look at. They then commented that I had sent a lot of information, they said , it's 16 pages of corrections , my response was well there was a lot of mistakes. Apparently I will hear this week,,, not holding my breath.

So last posted 26th March. Did MR for PIP, just received decision letter, well actually 2 copies of the same letter , still only 2 points given on one descriptor in daily living.
Usual we've looked at all evidence including the information from telephone call on the 3rd April 2025, letter is dated 4th April 2025.
Since the person on that phone call commented on the " 16 pages of MR" I somehow doubt very much that they have actually gone through the MR , what a wate of time and energy.
