Hi Steven (and all who are involved in this), I applied for a mandatory review on my case and included a separate letter using a template to state why I believed that I was entitled to the social support element. I was certain after reading and re-reading the criteria that I did fit that criteria. This was the 2nd time I asked for a reconsideration as I was told 'no' I wasn't entitled to the social support element 1 month before with no explanation why. The DWP phoned me this week to say that they had decided that I was entitled to it and that my Standard Living element would now be changed to Enhanced and I would be receiving back pay from 2018. So, push on, and don't accept what they tell you first with no explanation. Detail why you should be getting the Social Support element and state as much i.e 'therefore I believe that I am entitled to the social support element' at the end of the letter and sign. Hope this helps.
