What date is best to put in migration claim for UC Confused.

I have been given conflicting information about when to put the migration from irESA and HB in. I was advised to do it the day after the ESA was paid by CAB. But I've seen other information saying to avoid putting in the claim around payment days in case I get paid UC twice in one month and it would be a much lower amount. I was going to do it on Wednesday after payment on Tuesday but am now very confused about it. Does it matter what date you put your claim in regarding future UC payments?

Please advise. I am a nervous wreck.

Thank you.

Hi j112009,

Have you seen the feedback from one of our members about how good the service is from Citizens Advice Help to Claim?

I don't think whether you claim at the end or the beginning of the month is going to make a difference. You cannot be paid UC twice during the monthly assessment period.
I would phone Citizens Advice Help to Claim and go with them as they have access to your claim details.

Yes, it was in a phone call from the CAB when i was told to claim the day after my ESA payment. I just wondered if it would matter if I didn't claim on that day( which would be 30th Oct) or if I could wait a few days longer before I put the claim for UC in. Please advise. Perhaps my contact with CAB was not as good as the lady in the comments section in fact it wasn't.

Hi j112009,

If you claim UC the day after your ESA payment then you know that you have the money which must be some relief.
