Returning to ESA? was created by KPPurple
Hello,
Just a query and hope you might be able to help.
I'm on ESA and potentially might be starting a temp job that's only 2 months.
I will need a lot of adjustments to carry out the role.
What happens if my conditions detoriate while I'm in employment and then I can't work again.
Can I return to ESA?

Hi KPPurple,

No, there are no new claims to Income Based ESA. Have you thought of trying to work within the parameters of the ESA Permitted Work Scheme?

Hi David,
Thanks for your reply - I’m on contribution ESA and still in the assessment phase. Does that matter? Or would I need to apply for UC if I need to?

Hi KPPurple

We cannot give you a definitive answer as we do not have all the facts, click on David's link above for a fact sheet, alternatively contact your local Welfare Rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk

Remember UC is means tested whereas CB ESA or NS ESA are not.
