Hi, so I took a booked call from Ingeus for my daughters WCA LCWRA assessment.

She is autistic, agoraphobic, panic disorder, GAD and severe anxiety aswell as wheelchair user due to mobility disabilities with suspected scoliosis and chronic insomnia. Procrastinates over everything and does not reciprocate with people, maybe a short answer of 1 or 2 words f i am right with her otherwise she gets all panicky withdrawn and awkward stiff when sitting in her wheelchair when at the GP or hospital, Patient transport is officially set up aswell for hospital appts via the GP service on her record.

All of the above is chronic and she has been for years.

All of the medical information and psychological evidence, GP letter, meds etc all submitted, daily life limitations and mobility limitations submitted, and personal letter aswell.
The only thing the DR asked about for around 45 minutes was the questions tegarding my daughters mental ability to do things, with regards to her autism and panix disorder and agoraphobia.

He did say he is only going to ask the questions he needs and if theres anything more he will ask it.

Nothing about mobility or going out anywhere etc.

Is this normal?
As I am in constant state of anxiety about the results for her.
I am her dwp appointee and she has GP fit notes in the UC journal aswell vacking it all up and is not fit for work.

I answered everything he wanted to know, and he asked if my daughter could do a memory test on the speaker phone, she tried but shes audio avoidant and didnt get the answers right anyway, and was really anxious so answered by looking at me and not the phone.
He also asked how did she do at education, i answered she managed a pass with SendCo help and support and the same with college with extensions and inclusion support, I hope that doesnt go against her for passing as it was traumatic and the support teams did theur best and went above and beyond to help her pass her gcse grades andher college diploma.

Im just looking for honest opinions and to be ready just incase for the results.

Many thanks.

Hi SherryCatMum,

Maybe the Igneus assessor had enough paper based evidence for your daughter's mobility etc.
From what you are saying she should definitely be awarded LCWRA.
Hopefully other members will share their experiences.

Hi David, Thank you, Its just, Im always very detailed about exactly what my daughter cna and cannot do, mentally and physically and thankfully we have a great support system in place from all the medical multidisciplinary teams in all areas, im just distrustful if everything, especially in regards to asking how she did in school and college. But as SendCo and the inclusion dept were fully supporting her and extending all the testa and exams and having her sit in a side room and not a hall, with me bringing her to school and college and back, her autism made life very awkward in any setting where there is noise and the support in place really helped see her through the exams.
So i was worried it would go against her in respect of being able' to be in College/school and pass the exams.
She did what she could to achieve it but not without significant support and 25% attendance level due to agoraphobia and panic disorder.
He also asked if she had any friends, which she doesn't, she had one at secondary school and that ended when school ended.
It was this line of questions I was worried about in the mental intelligence of a person being able bodied in mind to think about work scenario.
Maybe im overthinking it, but Im responsible for ensuring she gets the support she needs at the end of the day.
Maybe someone out there is in the same sort of situ as us.

You will have the support of the BenefitsandWork moderators, and other members will I'm sure share their experiences.

Quick update, LCWRA was awarded.
Juat a bit if advice for anyone, keep on track with all your multidisciplinary teams and paperwork, your GP updated, everything on record, copies of everything, use icloud aswell to store downloads and copies of assessment reports and questionaires and answers, be honest Nd respectful, ask for all assessments to be recorded and sent to you.
On a side note, be mindful if you have hand tendonitis and cant grip safely but use a walking stick, as the assessor (pip) will use that against you as a matter if being able to grip a walking stick, and you lose valid points because of this. Maybe suggest instead if not being able to grip things safely, ensure you mention the pain levels the hand tendonitis presents when handling things like pots, pans knives and scissors etc and that makes it unsafe and feeling unsafe when it comes to cooking in regards to health and safety in the kitchen and bathroom - and that prevents you from preparing food safely - just something I noticed when I read the assessors report. I should have got 8 points for assistance but only got 2 for and aid when preparing food.

Everything is on record medically anyway, its just in the course of the long chat, the question arose about. The walking stick use and that if I can grip a walking stick, I can metaphorically apparently grip a knife and pots safely in the guise if using an aid..
Have someone help you with the paperwork, keep copies, have it looked over by CAB, souble check everything, get all your medical evidence in order an updated and explain How your conditions affect you quality lie on a daily basis, the majority of the time, does it vary etc?
Never say there are good or bad days az each day/night is unique to its own, more say the Majority of the time instead. Because a day might start good but gradually get bad, and so the majority of the time your condition disables you from doing stuff safely or pain free.
I hope that helps
We have been open and honest from day one with them all and alwayskeep everything updated and in order.
Thank you for all the guides they have been super helpful in wording things correctly and managing our records.
