Elderly parent moving in was created by Kelly
Hi

I claim IS and I also receive CA for looking after my husband. My husband is in receipt of enhanced PIP for both elements.
We get Council Tax support but we don't claim any help for housing costs.

Next month my husband's widowed 70 year old disabled mother will be moving in with us. She is in receipt of her state pension and PIP but no pension credit.

Will this change of circumstance trigger a move to UC?.

Hi Kelly

No it will not, but as you are in receipt of IS you will be receiving an invitation to claim Universal Credit.

Your husband's widowed disable mother maybe entitled to claim GPC if she is in receipt of the daily living component of PIP and it could be backdated depending on her circumstances. We would advise you to seek help fromyour local Welfare Rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk
