ESA and PIP....?

I am still on ESA and DLA level 1 waiting for migration.....I am long term arthritis 30+ years and getting much worse ....can I claim PIP or do I need to be on UC.....many thanks in advance...cdt

Hi cdt2112,

You are not obliged to take any action at present. You will be informed by letter when changes to your Benefits will take place and for most people it is not advisable to claim UC voluntarily.
If your condition is worsening , you may be entitled to the higher rates of DLA or PIP. It would be best if you received detailed advice from a local Benefits Advice agency regarding your personal situation.
